question about children making money on the internet?
hi im 13 and i am very knowledgeable about making internet sites and very good at computers and ive helped my freind that is 20 sell advertising on his site and make money from sites like that but the thing is idk if it is legal for ME to do it i hav a paypal acount. also if it is legal i can make alot of money but my parents most likely wont want me to do this but i can have the money in a paypal acount but once i buy somethng form ebay or like that obviously when the mail comes they will find out and i will be screwed so what do i do? or can i do? plz help
firstly, it isn’t illegal for you to have a paypal account, but it is against the terms of use.
that means that when they find out that you’re only 13, they get to keep all the money you think is yours.
but that’s besides the point – you aren’t old enough to work. in most states, you have to be at least 15 or 16 to work. plus, filing estimated business taxes *might* just be a little above your head.
and at 13, you aren’t “knowledgeable” about anything except maybe the Wiggles.
